Mr. Simmonds has over 40 years of experience in various sectors, including electronics, golf, horse racing, casinos and the online world, but most extensively in the wireless business. He also has considerable experience building teams, operating systems, and distribution networks. Mr. Simmonds has particular experience with public corporations, having held many high-level management and board positions throughout his career.
In addition to his roles at Newlook, Mr. Simmonds is currently Chairman and CEO of Wireless Age Communications, Inc., CEO of Gamecorp Inc. (CNQ: GAME, OTCBB: GAIMF), Chairman and CEO of Racino Royale, Inc (OTCBB: RCNR), TrackPower, Inc. (OTCBB: TPWR), and Chairman of Lumonall, Inc. (OTCBB: LUNL).
During his career, Mr. Simmonds has acquired or created many corporate entities. These include the following:
Clublink Inc. - Mr. Simmonds founded Canada's largest golf course owner/operation with enterprise value of over $1 billion.
Dynacharge - sold for $10 million to Duracell.
Glenayre Electronics - taken public in 1991 on Nasdaq for $80 million, peaked at $3 billion in early nineties.
Intek Diversified - sold for over $500 million to Securicor in 1996.
Roland P. Austrup
Mr. Austrup is President and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Managed Futures Corp., which is the managed futures division of Integrated Asset Management, an alternative asset management company with approximately $3.6 billion in assets under management. Mr. Austrup has an extensive background in investment management, and currently serves as an advisory board member for the Centre for Advanced Studies in Finance at the University of Waterloo, which provides the focus for financial research and education at the University and co-ordinates its Collaborative Master's Program in Finance. He is a member of the National Futures Association, Managed Funds Association and has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario.
Jason R. Moretto
Mr. Moretto has been a director of Newlook since January 5, 2004. He served as Newlook's Chief Financial Officer from 2004 to 2007 and was appointed its President and Chief Operating Officer in 2008. He has been involved with finance and accounting throughout his career and has served on a number of Canadian and U.S. public company Boards. Previous to joining Newlook, he was employed by BMO Nesbitt Burns (now BMO Capital Markets) in equity research from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, Mr. Moretto was national accounting manager for Universal Concerts Canada (now Live Nation) from 1995 to 1997 and preceding that worked as an accountant in a chartered accountancy practice from 1993 to 1995. He also recently served as a Member of the Ontario Securities Commission's Small Business Advisory Committee for a two-year term. Mr. Moretto is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified General Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
Adam W. Sykes
Mr. Sykes is President of aka Communications Associates ("aka"), a Toronto-based communications firm specializing in niche marketing, branding and strategic planning solutions. Founded by Mr. Sykes in 1993, aka has built a practice that has focused on a clientele base in real estate development, building materials, financial services and gaming, as well as other industries. In addition to marketing and branding, aka also provides a corporate communications and public relations practice.
Carrie J. Weiler
In addition to her role at Newlook, Ms. Weiler provides professional public company corporate secretarial services to various entities, including InterAmerican Gaming, Inc. (formerly Racino Royale, Inc. — appointed September 2006), Gate To Wire Solutions, Inc. (since 1998), and Lumonall Inc. Ms. Weiler is a member of the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries.
