NEWLOOK PROVIDES UPDATE ON STOCK HALT

TORONTO, ONTARIO - February 6, 2009 - Newlook Industries Corp. ("Newlook") (TSXV: NLI) today stated that a TSX Venture Exchange trading halt was in place on January 21, 2009 pending news of a potential transaction. The potential transaction has been terminated as of February 4, 2009.

Pursuant to agreements previously announced on October 7 and 27, 2008, Newlook confirms that it has invested $225,000 as debt in Sunbay Port Hope Inc. ("Sunbay") to date. The Sunbay loan matures September 30, 2011, and bears interest at the rate of 12% per year. Sunbay is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sunbay Energy Corp., which in turn is a majority-owned subsidiary of PowerPlay Energy Corp. ("PowerPlay"). Newlook also confirms that it has not made any other additional investment in PowerPlay to date. Newlook currently holds no equity interest in either Sunbay or PowerPlay, nor has issued any securities for the transactions.
